Impaired fasting glucose

E-mail Print

Impaired Fasting Glycemia occurs when the fasting glycemia levels detected in a patient are between 6 and 7 mmol/l, and the oral glucose tolerance test glycemia values are lower than 7.8 after two hours. Such patients are at a higher risk of  developing Type 2 DM in the future. Since overweight and obesity is the main cause of this condition, patients should change their eating habits and increase their physical activity so as to reduce their weight.
