Glucose is the simplest sugar. It is one of the basic sources of energy for our body. The fate of glucose in the blood depends on the state of the organism. When there is a greater physical load, it is burned into energy, in the time of respite it is deposited in the form of glycogen (starch) as reserve. Glycogen is deposited in the liver, muscles and serves as a store untill the moment when the body is again exposed to a substantial load. Some glucose is always present the blood stream and is available at all times as a source of energy.
